All volunteers of the programs undergo the study of requisite training materials. When carrying out their activities, new volunteers are accompanied by those with more experience. All those over the age of 18 are required to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check through the Ottawa Police Service. For more information about how volunteers are trained click here:

How are programs organized?

As experience grows in the Greenboro neighbourhood, coordinators are identified and collaborated with to ensure the continued growth and quality of the programs, and to connect learning across cities and countries worldwide.

Similarly to other such organizations, the Institute’s programs are funded largely by the local Baha’i community, composed of individuals who believe wholeheartedly in the capacity of young people to effect change in their communities. It is also open to donations from community members, both in-kind and monetary.
